Cagliari: The Carabinieri of Nuoro seize approximately 12 kg of narcotic substances such as heroin and cocaine.

I Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Nuoro arrested two subjects, aged 67 and 63 respectively, residing in Veneto, for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking, in competition.
The operation was possible following the study of the boarding lists which revealed that the arrested people had made numerous trips from the peninsula since July, even for very short periods, which is why, on 4 October, it was decided to carry out a shadowing and observation service.
During this service it was ascertained that the two, having landed in Olbia, first headed to some locations in the province of Sassari, then continued to the province of Oristano and finally to Cagliari, where they collected a package from a local courier. At that point, suspicious of their behaviour, the Carabinieri decided to verify what they had just taken from the two, finding inside the car they were using a package containing a lot of 5,235 kg of heroin.
Not only that, because further investigative activities carried out without interruption this afternoon resulted in further seizures 11,500 kg of cocaine which, again, the two had sent via courier.
The seized narcotic, if placed on the market, would have yielded a value exceeding one million euros.
The arrested persons, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, were transferred to the Cagliari-Uta prison.
