Cagliari, this morning the Carabinieri of Monserrato will file with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Cagliari a crime report relating to the complaint in a state of freedom for simulation of a crime, drawn up against a 68-year-old pensioner from Capoterra, already known to the men of the force due to previous events. The story seems paradoxical but it is real. In February 2020 the man had driven his Nissan "Terrano" car, which was no longer running due to mechanical problems, to a workshop in Monserrato. After receiving a repair estimate that he had deemed inappropriate in relation to the value of the vehicle, instead of recovering it and scrapping it, facing inevitable costs, he had simply left it in front of the workshop. The mechanic's repeated requests for the car to be taken away were of no avail. In the end, that old car that had been sitting on the street for too long had attracted the attention of the traffic police who had noticed that the vehicle had no insurance. Following the complaints of the owner of the workshop, the matter reached the Carabinieri who, from some checks in the database, realized how the owner had falsely reported the theft of that vehicle by unknown persons on 26 September 2020 at the Carabinieri station in Cagliari Villanova. In this way he had decided to shake off any problem even at the risk of casting shadows and suspicions on the craftsman who held the vehicle on account for repairs. However, the hearing of several witnesses allowed the military to reconstruct what happened and highlight the 68-year-old's unscrupulous behavior which borders on slander.
