Brescia, youth gang dedicated to thefts and robberies defeated.

In the early hours of the morning, in the province of Brescia (BS), the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Brescia executed a precautionary custody order issued by the GIP of Brescia at the request of the local Prosecutor's Office and a precautionary custody order issued by the GIP of the Juvenile Court of Brescia at the request of the local Juvenile Prosecutor's Office who agreed with the solid circumstantial framework collected by the Operational Unit of the Company of Gardone Val Trompia and the Carabinieri Station of Gussago which conducted the investigations.

19 restrictive measures were carried out: 15 against subjects, in their early twenties, believed to be responsible, in various capacities, of the crimes of "criminal association aimed at committing crimes against the person and property, in particular injuries, thefts and robberies, as well as the crimes of possession and dealing of narcotic substances and carrying objects capable of offending" ; and 4 against minors who are accused of crimes against the person and property, and crimes of possession and dealing of narcotic substances.

135 Carabinieri were employed in the activity which, in detail, led to the execution of:

• 4 precautionary custody in prison;
• 4 precautionary custody in juvenile prison issued by the Juvenile Authority;
• 8 precautionary measures of house arrest;
• 3 precautionary measures of the obligation to stay with the obligation to stay overnight.

Today's measures arise from a detailed investigation activity by the Carabinieri Company of Gardone Val Trompia, launched by the Gussago Carabinieri Station in May 2019, which originates from some episodes of thefts and robberies which occurred in Brescia and its province against minors and those in their twenties.

The investigation, which lasted until July 2021 and conducted through telephone interceptions supported by observation and shadowing services, as well as by witness interviews, made it possible to collect various clues of guilt against the recipients of the measures, considered presumed perpetrators of crimes against the person and property and to hypothesize the existence of a youth gang, called "Gang 88" by the followers themselves, which made belonging to the "group" a point of strength for the individual participants and, at the same time, an instrument of intimidation towards the victims.

Furthermore, it was ascertained that some of the aforementioned would have independently started a thriving business of dealing drugs mainly of the hashish and marijuana type.
Criminal conduct continued even during lockdown periods.
At the same time as the aforementioned personal measures, 23 house searches were carried out against the same number of suspects who were at large for the aforementioned crimes.
