Bologna, two minors reported for stealing an electric scooter.
The Carabinieri of the Vergato Company (BO) have referred the matter to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Bologna two 17 year old boys, both originating from Albania, already known to the police and guests at a reception facility for unaccompanied minors, for “aggravated theft in competition”.
The event occurred last February 11th, when, a 27 year old social worker, in service at the community for minors, after having left the facility, upon his return, he noticed that the lock of his room had been tampered with and that from inside, numerous items of clothing and an electric scooter were stolen, all owned by him.
Only after speaking with all the guests of the facility about what happened, two minor boys “admitted their responsibilities – we read in the statement released by the Carabinieri -, reporting that they had left the stolen objects at a friend's house, but that they would immediately take action to return them, apparently demonstrating a desire to make amends".
A few days later, however, they delivered them to the operator another electric scooter, different from the stolen one, and no article of clothing, thus forcing the 27-year-old to turn to the military.
The second scooter, of a different model and of a lower value than the first, would have been purchased used by the two boys to give it to the victim of the theft in the hope that he would not notice the difference.
