Bologna: a 34-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man arrested. Accused of theft and attempted robbery.

On February 6, 2024, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of San Lazzaro di Savena (BO) and of the Castenaso Station arrested, respectively, a 34-year-old Romanian woman for attempted aggravated robbery and a 41-year-old Moroccan man for attempted improper robbery.

The woman was arrested in the morning for having left the Extracoop supermarket in the Centro Nova shopping center in via Villanova, without paying for thirty-eight packs of meat that he had secretly taken and hidden in the bag he was carrying over his shoulder. Betrayed by the anti-shoplifting barriers, the 34-year-old was stopped in the car park opposite by a security guard who phoned the Carabinieri. Upon the arrival of the military, the woman was identified and the stolen goods, worth 435 euros, were returned to the rightful owner.

The 41-year-old, however, was arrested in the afternoon for having an employee of the MOP warehouse in via Bruno Tosarelli was attacked during an attempted improper robbery. The 41-year-old, in fact, after having stolen a couple of bottles of alcohol worth around forty euros, attempted to escape and when he found himself cornered, he pushed the employee, causing him to fall to the ground. Upon the arrival of the military, the man was identified and the stolen goods were returned to the rightful owner.

At the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bologna, the two subjects arrested by the Carabinieri were placed under house arrest, the woman in Bologna and the man in San Lazzaro di Savena, waiting to be translated into the judicial halls of the Court of Bologna for the direct judgement.
