Bernareggio: 27 year old arrested after an episode of violence in a shopping centre. Convicted of attempted murder, brawl, stalking and robbery. 

On 7 February, in Bernareggio, the Carabinieri of the local station arrested a 27-year-old, resident in that center but originally from the province of Naples, in compliance with a provision for the execution of a cumulative sentence issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Lecco .

The man, who at the time of his arrest he was already under house arrest due to a different criminal proceeding, he was definitively convicted of the crimes of attempted murder, brawling, stalking and aggravated robbery.

The facts date back to September 2020, when near a well-known bar shopping center one exploded in Vimercate brawl between members of two families, continued the following day in Bernareggio at the private home of one of the two family groups, where the belonging to one of the two factions they had shown up to settle accounts left pending the previous day with the opposing party.

The investigations of the local Carabinieri station made it possible to reconstruct the exact dynamics of what happened and, in particular, to ascertain that today's condemned man had injured one of the contenders with a switchblade, during the violent altercation, who had suffered injury with an initial prognosis of 30 days.

The judicial authority, on the basis of medical documentation and the findings emerging from the investigations, considered that the lethal potential of the weapon used to strike, the dangerousness of the harmful conduct and the type of injury caused to the victim were such as to support the accusation of attempted murder and, for these facts, the man was arrested in December 2020 in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the GIP of Monza.

In the following month of May 2023, the man was then responsible for a rapina against the driver of a car parked near the cemetery of Merate (LC), attacking the victim and ordering her to hand over all the money in her possession.

Finally, the conviction for persecutory acts is attributable to an affair committed against a 23-year-old, recipient of repeated harassing conduct which had caused the victim a serious state of anxiety and fear. The arrested man was taken to the Monza prison, where he will have to serve a total sentence of 7 years and 9 months in prison.
