Attempted scam on elderly people with the fake policeman method: a 28-year-old reported in Reggio Calabria.

He attempted together with other yet unidentified accomplices to defraud an elderly person with the method of “fake policeman” and a 28enne of Naples was reported to Reggio Calabria by the Carabinieri for attempted scam.

According to the military's investigations, the modus operandi would always be the same: at first the unfortunate elderly man was contacted on the telephone by a fake policeman. The latter asks the victim the delivery of money and gold jewelry necessary for the release of your son arrested following a road accident. 

Only later, if the victim falls into the trap, does a second accomplice come into play, responsible for going to the elderly person's home to collect what was requested. And it is precisely this last role that the 28-year-old reported should have taken on who, after arriving in Reggio Calabria in a car, began showing up at the homes of the elderly who had been targeted by the gang.

Before the criminal plan came to fruition, however, the man was stopped and identified by the Carabinieri who are now investigating to trace the accomplices with whom he allegedly tried to carry out other scams in the city.
