Alexandria, a "construction site" for the production of marijuana found.
The Carabinieri of the Acqui Terme Company have dismantled a real "plant" for the production of narcotic substances of the "marijuana" type, discovering, following a meticulous investigation, an Indian hemp plantation set up and hidden inside of a long-abandoned property on the Acqui hills, previously home to a restaurant, whose large rooms had been "reconverted" into rooms for planting, growing and subsequent harvesting of the finished product.
Inside the structure, everything necessary for large-scale production was found, evidenced by the presence of 67 halogen lamps to encourage plant growth, with a commercial value of approximately 600 euros each, 3 industrial
conditioning to maintain a constant climate all year round, worth approximately 21.000 euros in total, and a professional irrigation system.
Inside, 1.200 plants of various sizes were found, from the youngest in the "nursery" room, small but already thriving, ready to be transferred to the rooms where the growth and subsequent harvest of the finished product was completed, in a production cycle without solution of continuity. In addition to the plants, there were 45 vacuum-packed plastic bags with dried and preserved marijuana inside, for a total weight of approximately 23 kilograms. The building and the "central" were run by a young Albanian who lived there and who dealt with the criminal activity, currently untraceable.
The investigations carried out at the Electricity Service company made it possible to ascertain that the current used for the operation of the various systems had been illegally taken upstream of the reference meter, with an estimated shortfall
in approximately 200.000 euros.
It is estimated that the flourishing production and dealing activity that was crushed could have illegally confiscated around 45.000 euros per month, as income from the retail sale of the narcotic substance.
The plants were cut and placed under seizure together with the materials used for cultivation, available to the competent AG for subsequent determinations.
