Alexandria: the perpetrator of the double attempted murder of two African citizens on 10 April has been arrested.
The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Alessandria have a 56-year-old man arrested in flagrante delicto of possession of clandestine and altered firearms, against whom, during validation, a precautionary custody order was also issued for attempted murder of two African citizens, which took place last April 10th in Tortona.
On this occasion, the Carabinieri of Tortona intervened at the home of two African citizens following a report to 112 of shots fired. Once on site, the Carabinieri found a road on the public road 23 year old Guinean with a deep wound to his right knee, probably caused by a gunshot. Immediately rescued, the young man was transported to the Tortona emergency room, where further stab wounds were found on his neck and back. Meanwhile, a man showed up at the hospital 31 year old Ghanaian, also with a gunshot wound to the chin.
On the basis of the initial investigations, carried out by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Alessandria, with the support of colleagues from Tortona, it was established that the two injured people lived in the apartment which was the subject of the report and had been abducted from gunshots in the same circumstance, as partially confirmed by the discovery of some shell casings 7,65 caliber pistol and some noticeable traces of blood on the floor.
The immediate investigations of the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit were directed towards the narcotics environment - as a fair quantity of hashish divided into blocks was also found at the crime scene - believing it plausible that the event was attributable to issues arising in the context of drug dealing local. On the same night as the event, several searches were carried out on subjects linked to the environment, seizing further narcotics, although not directly attributable to the serious criminal act.
In the days following the event, the 23-year-old was transferred to the CTO of Turin in a pharmacological coma, where the amputation of his leg was necessary due to the serious injuries sustained, while the 31-year-old was admitted to the intensive care unit of Alessandria and underwent surgery surgery to extract the bullet from his chin, and was discharged a few days later.
The in-depth investigations, carried out with the support of detailed and complex technical activities, and the testimonies taken, led to the identification of a 56 year old Italian who had recently moved to the province, with whom one of the victims had had relationships as part of mutual friendships.
Considering that the man could be the perpetrator of the double attempted murder, the Carabinieri, upon authorization from the Judicial Authority, proceeded with an search of the interested party's home, with the help of dog units, becoming a severed shotgun with abraded serial number, an unregistered 7,65 caliber pistol and two knives of a military type, compatible with the weapons used for the serious criminal episode. Inside the house there was also a warning sign of the "State Police” with abraded serial number and an appreciable quantity of ammunition for the weapons found, one of which, the pistol, was loaded and ready for use.
The man was then arrested for the offense possession of illegal and altered firearms and taken to the Alessandria prison, where, following the interrogation before the GIP, he confessed to being the author of the wounding of the two African citizens and to having acted out of an alleged sense of justice in the face of the spread of crime , holding the two responsible for drug dealing in the area, even to minors.
The Judicial Authority, fully agreeing with the investigative findings of the Carabinieri, supported by the confession of the 56-year-old, therefore issued a precautionary measure in prison regarding the illegal possession of weapons and the double attempted murder.
From the reconstruction of events, the 56-year-old allegedly showed up at the victims' home, qualifying himself as belonging to the forces of law and order, displaying the seized "State Police" paddle, and once inside the apartment he fired the pistol at the 31-year-old's chin, who immediately fled from a window, then took up the sawn-off shotgun and he shot the 23-year-old at point blank range, hitting him in the knee only thanks to the instinctive reaction of the victim, who lowered the rifle, preventing the shot from hitting his body. Despite his serious injury, the 23-year-old tried to escape, but came reached in the street by the attacker, who repeatedly hit him in the neck and back with a knife, before fleeing.
Arrested by the Carabinieri, the 56-year-old is today in prison awaiting trial.
The parallel investigative activity, resulting from the discovery of hashish in the victims' apartment, led to the 23-year-old Guinean being charged with the crime of drug dealing, an activity that had continued in the Tortona area for at least a year.
