The man then attempted to hide the body by closing it in a large black waste bag, leaving it on the floor in the kitchen of the house, and then went to the Carabinieri to turn himself in. The medical examiner, who intervened on site together with the PM on duty from the Vercelli Public Prosecutor's Office, then noted the stab wounds inflicted on the woman.
The investigations, carried out by the SIS of Alessandria, made it possible to find and seize at the crime scene a smooth-bore kitchen knife with a blade of approximately 30 cm, probably used by the young man to commit the murder.
There are no previous reports of mistreatment between family members or interventions due to arguments.

The man, found with blood on his clothes, was then arrested by the Carabinieri and taken to the Vercelli prison to await the validation hearing of the investigating judge.
