Agrigento, two men under investigation who have long been believed to be involved in a mafia and drug dealing context

Agrigento, The Court of Palermo - Prevention Measures Section, on the proposal of the Police Commissioner of Agrigento Rosa Maria Iraci, has issued two decrees for the application of Special Public Security Surveillance against subjects deemed socially dangerous.

They were reached by the prevention measures GE, aged 55, from Agrigento and CA, aged 49, from Porto Empedocle.

In March 2019 both were arrested during Operation KERKENT, conducted by the staff of the DIA of Agrigento, for mafia association aimed at drug trafficking.

The Court of Palermo held that from the investigations carried out it can be seen that both subjects were fully involved in the criminal activity carried out in the lucrative criminal narcotics sector, as well as their unity with the criminal organization that had been established for this purpose, whose summit was represented by MASSIMINO Antonio, already definitively convicted for the crime referred to in the art. 416 bis CP.

Both subjects reached by the PS Special Surveillance measure with an obligation to stay had criminal relationships with people who operated or are part of a mafia context.

The Court of Palermo held - accepting the Police Commissioner's proposal - that the GE played a central role within the criminal gang and that the CA played a role in the sale of narcotics and that both are socially dangerous subjects.
