Agrigento, late on Friday evening, in Porto Empedocle, the State Police proceeded with the arrest of a young man caught in the act of committing a crime.
The patrol of the Porto Empedocle Police Station with personnel from the UPG and SP of the Agrigento Police Headquarters intervened in the port area of Porto Empedocle where, near a bar, the presence of a drunk man was reported who was threatening passers-by with a jack and the customers.
Having arrived near the entrance to the port, the operators noticed a man who was having a heated argument with a woman, who turned out to be his girlfriend.
The officers settled the dispute and sanctioned both for failure to comply with the current anti-Covid legislation as they were found to circulate beyond the permitted hours without justified reason.
Immediately, the man behaved aggressively and disrespectfully, uttering threats and insults towards the operators who intervened.
The officers, therefore, after notifying the AG, proceeded to arrest the man in flagrante delicto for the crimes of contempt, resistance, violence and threats to a public official.
After the ritual formalities, the young man was taken to the security rooms of the Anghelone Barracks in Agrigento.
The Judicial Authority validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure of the signature requirement.
