Agrigento: the police commissioner issues 4 DASPOs following disturbances during the Licata – Akragas football match, “Saraceno” stadium in Ravanusa

The DASPO provision issued in this case provides that access is prohibited throughout the national territory to the places where football team events take place starting from four hours before the start of the sporting competitions and up to two hours after the conclusion.

The State Police carried out four measures with which the The Police Commissioner of Agrigento has issued a ban on access to sports events against as many individuals, all resident in Agrigento, aged between 37 and 24.

The subjects are held responsible for disorders that occurred last January 7, 2024, during the Licata – Akragas football match, which took place at the “Saraceno” stadium in Ravanusa, during which there were repeated throws of dangerous material and blunt objects and, more generally, violent conduct was found to pose a serious risk to the public safety of the fans present at the stadium.

Furthermore, they made use of means aimed at making their recognition difficult.

Specifically, two of them, which were located inside the sports facility, in the "guest" sector, they threw firecrackers towards the pitch, while the other two were in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, outside the same sector, disguised as neck warmers and in possession of an iron bar and a lit "bengal" torch.

In the circumstance, the intervention of the police was necessary, in the service of public order and safety, to quell the unrest.

The subsequent investigations, also conducted with the aid of video and photographic recordings carried out by personnel of the Provincial Scientific Police Office of Agrigento, allowed theidentification of those responsible for the disturbances and, consequently, the adoption of DASPO measures against them.

The provision will last three years for one person, four years for two others and for the fourth, already reached in the past by a similar provision, eight years with the requirement to report to the Police Headquarters on the days of the competitions.

To the subjects, therefore, Access to places where football team events take place is prohibited throughout the national territory organized by the FIGC, the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A, UEFA, FIFA, the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie B and Lega Pro, the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A and as part of all the activities foreseen by the sports federations and by the bodies and organizations recognized by the CONI, as well as access to places affected by the parking, transit or transport of those who participate or attend the events themselves, starting from four hours before the start of the sporting competitions and up to two hours after the conclusion.
