Agrigento, control of the territory: sanctions for violation of anti-covid legislation and a Tunisian citizen arrested

The extraordinary check was carried out on 18 and 19 May by the Licata police station together with the Palermo Crime Prevention Department

Agrigento, we communicate the data of the extraordinary control of the territory which was carried out on the 18th and 19th of last year by the Licata police station, together with the Palermo Crime Prevention Department, in that municipality. 7 checkpoints, 168 people identified and checked (including several criminals), 74 vehicles checked, 4 fines for violations of the highway code. Furthermore, 8 checks were carried out at public establishments with particular attention to the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors and people in a clear state of alcoholic intoxication. Finally, during the aforementioned activity, in compliance with the anti-Covid regulations, they were elevated three administrative sanctions against as many young people who, on Tuesday evening, regardless of the provisions in force, were caught outside a place, regularly closed, sipping beer beyond the permitted hours. Finally, a young man was referred to the AG in a state of freedom as he was once again found driving a vehicle without a licence, with a repeat offense within the two-year period.

On 19 May 2021, in Lampedusa (AG), personnel of the Flying Squad of Agrigento, proceeded with the arrest of a Tunisian citizen because, recipient of a refusal of entry decree issued by the Police Commissioner of Agrigento, he returned to Italy within the expected three years from the actual repatriation.

The arrested person, as ordered by the Magistrate on duty, was awaiting the immediate trial subjected to house arrest at the Lampedusa Hot-Spot.
