Agrigento, Police active in the area: an arrest for drugs and sanctions for violation of anti-COVID regulations
Agrigento, in recent days, personnel of the State Police during a general prevention and control service of the territory, as well as repression of the illicit trafficking of narcotic substances in the territory of Palma di Montechiaro, reported to the Prosecutor's Office of Agrigento, a forty-year-old, already known to the police bodies, for the crime of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The policemen of the Palma di Montechiaro police station, during the inspection phases of a moped, ascertained that the latter was without insurance coverage, and upon inspecting it they found a transparent plastic casing containing 9,50 grams of narcotic substance of the type Hashish, divided into ten packages wrapped in foil.
The man, already with numerous and serious police and criminal records, was referred in a state of freedom to the AG pursuant to Art.73 Presidential Decree 309/90.
The commitment of the Agrigento Police Headquarters continues in carrying out the Services prepared by the Police Commissioner Rosa Maria IRACI, aimed at respecting the current legislation regarding the containment and management of the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency.
During these checks, the men of the State Police in Licata, last night, stopped two young men in their twenties walking around the city center who were currently trying to justify their presence outside the house at times not permitted by the anti-covid regulations with the “need to take a walk because you suffer from anxiety”. The officers, having verified that this justification was not supported by suitable medical documentation, imposed the administrative sanction referred to in the aforementioned anti-Covid legislation on the two young people.
The agents of the State Police in Licata, as part of the administrative checks carried out on communications relating to the sale of buildings carried out by the owners of the properties, ascertained the presence, in a house in Licata, of a non-EU citizen of Senegalese nationality who was found to be actively sought by the 2019 as the recipient of a precautionary measure issued by the investigating judge of the court of Agrigento. The police officers tracked down the aforementioned man in the said house, subjecting him to the precautionary measure of the obligation to remain at home with instructions for staying at home during the evening and night hours. The precautionary measure arose following the criminal hypothesis of detention for the purpose of dealing narcotics that the Senegalese would have committed in Licata in recent years.
