Agrigento, checks in the area: two young people arrested for the crime of escape and theft

Agrigento. On 27 April 2021, in Licata (AG), the State Police arrested a young man responsible for the crime of escape in flagrante delicto.

The man from Licate, currently subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest, had been arrested in recent days by the men of the police station in flagrante delicto of attempted aggravated burglary of a home as he had been found inside an apartment intent on stealing, and had also attempted to escape to escape arrest.

The man, after the formalities, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, was accompanied to his home and placed there under house arrest.

In recent days, in Agrigento, the State Police arrested a young man caught in the act of committing a crime.

At approximately 00 the UPGSP staff went to a central city street where it had been reported that the theft of a parked car was in progress.

The operators, who arrived on site, noticed two subjects who were suspiciously wandering near the parked vehicle. At the sight of the emergency workers, the two abandoned a plastic bag and, separating, ran away.

One of the two young people, after a short chase, was tracked down and stopped.

The stolen goods, consisting of small parts and car accessories removed shortly before from the car, were recovered and the tools used to carry out the theft were seized.

The young man was arrested in the act of committing the crime of aggravated theft and, after notifying the AG at the Public Prosecutor's Office of Agrigento, placed at the discretion of the same in the security rooms of the Anghelone Barracks. The AG validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the PG

The other young man who in the meantime had managed to escape, following the investigative activity subsequently conducted, was identified and referred, in a state of freedom, to the competent AG for the crime of aggravated theft in competition.
