Agrigento, 50-year-old arrested for defamation of an artist on social media for a failed commission

Agrigento, Yesterday, in Canicattì, the State Police reported a fifty-year-old man in a state of freedom of the province of Messina as responsible for the crimes of threats and defamation via social media.

The complaint originated last February 17, when the men of the police station received a complaint from a man who, seeing himself defamed on the page of the social network "Facebook" where he has a profile that advertises his artistic activity, filed a complaint.

The plaintiff, specialized in the creation of mosaics, was commissioned to create some works by an elderly man; today's defendant had also taken part in the agreement as his nephew.

After the creation and delivery of the first work, the client, considering the work unwelcome as it was considered unsuccessful, expressed his desire to withdraw from the previous agreement, requesting the refund of the deposit already paid.

            The telephone requests for withdrawal from the contract continued over time and degenerated into threatening warnings that today's suspect uttered towards the offended party, consisting of the feared damage to image.

At the end of the investigations, the police station staff ascertained the criminal responsibilities of the aforementioned person and reported him to the AG for the crimes in question.
