4-year-old boy goes to kindergarten with 100g of cocaine in his backpack. Tragedy escaped on Isola di Capo Rizzuto. Uncle arrested.
On the afternoon of Friday 19 May, a 30-year-old from Isola di Capo Rizzuto, already known to the police, was arrested. The man had forgotten a plastic bag containing around 4g of cocaine inside his 100-year-old nephew's backpack.
The child, upon arriving in class, found the strange wrapper of white powder in his backpack and began playing with it with his classmates. Only the timely intervention of the teachers and the Carabinieri averted the worst, preventing the minors from touching or, worse, ingesting the substance. The military seized the drugs and alerted the social services of the municipality of Isola for the relevant obligations.
In the meantime, immediate investigations which evidently focused on the child's closest family members, made it possible to identify serious responsibilities on the child's uncle, MF, who, following rapid investigations, was declared under arrest for possession of drugs for the purposes of dealing. At the disposal of the Public Prosecutor on duty at the Public Prosecutor's Office of Crotone, the naive and clumsy drug dealer was taken to the Pythagorean prison to await immediate trial, held last Saturday morning before the Court Judge, who validated the arrested and ordered his custody in prison.
