Lamezia Terme, "high-impact" checks: one arrest, fines, and suspensions in sensitive areas of the city.

I Carabinieri of the Lamezia Terme Company have carried out a vast coordinated service of extraordinary control of the “high impact” territory, carried out in the evening and night hours and concentrated on the entire city area, with particular attention to the neighborhood Sambiase and to the areas of the Nicastro nightlifeThe aim of the operation was to counter predatory crimes, widespread crime and situations of urban decay.

The activity is part of the safety plan established by the Prefecture of Catanzaro, with the use of 30 Carabinieri between the military Operational and Mobile Radio Unit, of the stations of Lamezia Terme Principale, Sambiase and Scalo, in addition to the specialized departments of the Labor Inspectorate Units e Anti-Adulteration and Healthcare of Catanzaro. Also supporting the Operational Intervention Teams of the 14th “Calabria” Battalion, high-mobility units dedicated to strengthening prevention activities.

During the checks, the following were identified: 93 Guests and verified 74 vehiclesDuring the operations, the military tracked down and arrested a 41enne originally from the province of Cosenza but resident in Lamezia Terme, recipient of a restrictive measure issued by the Attorney General's Office of Catanzaro and already subjected to the home detentionA significant part of the operation was dedicated to verifying the rules to protect workers and consumers.

They were found in a restaurant two irregular workers, with a penalty of 6.400 € and suspension of activity. In a second exercise, findings emerged sanitation deficiencies, with further sanctions equal to 4.500 €. On the front of the road safety, the Carabinieri have ascertained the driving under the influence of alcohol by a 56 year old foreigner, tested positive for alcohol. Further activities led to 6 penalties for violations of the Highway Code, with a total of approximately 1.750 € and administrative seizure of two vehicles.

During the same evening, a young man from Lamezia Terme was reported to the Prefecture after being found in possession of a small amount of hashishThe operation confirms the constant presence of theCarabinieri in the Lamezia Terme area, engaged in prevention and in fight against widespread and organised crime, to protect collective security. The criminal proceedings initiated are currently in the preliminary phase preliminary investigations at the competent Judicial Authority.
