Soverato: Land and road traffic checks
The Carabinieri of the Soverato Carabinieri Company have increased the territorial control and citizen "proximity" services, always with a view to ensuring and maintaining a protected and peaceful environment for communities. There were numerous patrols located throughout the territory, not only in Soverato, but also in the remaining territory of competence, from Copanello to Guardavalle, ensuring the protection of the territory and interventions in favour of the citizens. These devices were also integrated by foot patrols of the Carabinieri with the soldiers who wore the historic "cape" on the occasion. Over 572 people and 403 vehicles were checked, two driving licences were revoked, with a total of 52 points deducted from the relevant driving licences.
As a result of a minor and independent road accident, the driver of a car, in an evident state of drunkenness, is positive result for ethanol with an alcohol level higher than 2 g/l, as emerged from tests carried out by the military with the breathalyser device provided. In addition to the driving license revoked, the vehicle was subjected to administrative seizure.
On the occasion of the road traffic controls:
- two motorists, stopped while driving their respective cars in a clear state of drunkenness, with a blood alcohol level higher than 1 g/l, were sanctioned, resulting license withdrawal for the subsequent fulfillments of the Prefecture of Catanzaro;
- another was caught driving a vehicle without a license, as he had never obtained one. The vehicle was seized for confiscation;
- a motorist he was stopped on the SS106 while driving a high-powered car, with foreign license plates, false registration and insurance documents and consequently fined;
- a young man resident in the lower Ionian area of Soverato, he was found to be the tenant of a car for more than two months, which he then did not return to the rental company and also lent it to an acquaintance, by unlawfully taking possession of the vehicle.
During the checks, then, a young man originating from a non-EU country did not comply, without justifiable reason, with the order of the operating military to show the passport or other identification document for identification purposes, violating the provision set forth in art. 6 of the Consolidated Law on Immigration.
On another occasion, an 26 year old always originating from a non-EU country was found not having complied with the order to leave Italian territory issued by the Police Commissioner and found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana-type narcotic substance. Finally, in the context of the services performed, they were identified and reported to the Prefecture of Catanzaro, pursuant to art. 75 DPR 309/90 (Conduct constituting administrative offences), four subjects found in possession of a total of over 20 grams of narcotic substances including "marijuana" and "hashish".
