Catanzaro: Environmental protection checks result in 8 people reported.

The Carabinieri of Catanzaro, in an effort to protect the environment and crack down on unfair practices, conducted inspections throughout the province. Illegal landfills and abandoned cars were identified. Eight people were reported for violating environmental regulations.

In recent days, i Carabinieri have intensified the Checks throughout the province of Catanzaro. Particular attention was given by the Provincial Command, with the assistance of the Carabinieri Forestry Group, to the phenomenon of fire which has affected in recent weeks Catanzaro and the area of ​​Sellia Marina and Simeri Crichi. Numerous patrols scattered throughout the country with over one hundred men employed. The results were immediate: dozens of people and vehicles checked; eight people reported for violations of environmental regulations.

In particular, thanks to the cooperation with the regional Control Room, it was possible to identify and denounce a man who had just hung un fire a Belcastro. Four people were fined administratively in various parts of the province. In violation of current regulations, they had lit fires on private property, potentially causing large-scale fires with significant environmental damage.

In one case, the Carabinieri found that inside an agricultural company there was a going on illicit combustion of non-hazardous special waste. Two people were subject to complaint. Some vehicles and the affected area were seized.

The checks then also revealed that on two private properties they had been left in contact with the soil two cars in a state of total abandonment, which instead should have been delivered to an authorized collection centerThose responsible were fined nearly €1700.

Several cases of illicit management of non-hazardous special wasteSix people were reported.

It was then an illegal landfill site seized about 1000 m², inside which, among other things, seven vehicles had been abandoned.

Finally, in one case, the Carabinieri reported four people after discovering that car repairs were underway inside a building previously seized for the illegal management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste without a single environmental permit and in violation of a municipal business closure order.

The checks carried out demonstrate the commitment of the Carabinieri to ensure environmental protection first through preventive measures and then through repressive measures.
