Il November 18, 2025, Hasturkas in Albania, following a complex and prolonged investigative activity developed through the channels of international cooperation, a man was arrested 43 year old Albanian citizen wanted in Italy for drug trafficking. The operation is the result of close collaboration between the Service for International Police Cooperation (SCIP), In particular the 2nd Division Office of the Security Expert in Albania and Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Caltanissetta, in synergy with the Special Operations Force of the Albanian Criminal Police Department.
The 43-year-old was wanted internationally and the recipient of a Red Notice, activated by impulse of the Public Prosecutor's Office – Caltanissetta District Anti-Mafia Directorate, as he is under investigation for association aimed at committing an unspecified series of crimes among those provided for by art. 73 DPR 309/1990, illegal carrying and possession of weapons and ammunition, with the aggravating circumstance of having favored What our, In particular the Gela mafia family, Rinzivillo clan.
The role of coordination between the operating result is crucial for the purposes of the operating result. During the investigation it emerged that the Albanian citizen, resident in theMilanese hinterland, through telephone conversations with a former lawyer of the Gela Bar Association, suspended from practicing his profession because he was convicted of external association with a mafia organization, agreed to the purchase of large quantities of cocaine and hashish to be placed on the Sicilian market, thanks to connections with individuals suspected of belonging to the mafia families of Gela, Rinzivillo clan.
The operating result represents tangible evidence of the commitment to fighting transnational organized crime. The following actions are currently underway: extradition procedures.
