Murder in Lonato del Garda: The victim's mother and son were arrested. The motive was linked to a family feud between Sinti clans.

Brescia – A breakthrough has been reached in the investigation into the murder of Dori Dolores, the woman killed on the evening of October 2nd in Lonato del Garda. On the morning of October 4th, Carabinieri officers from the Brescia Investigative Unit and the Desenzano del Garda Company arrested two suspects: the victim's mother, a 59-year-old Italian citizen, and her sixteen-year-old son. Both are accused of involvement in a violent episode of attempted aggravated murder, connected to a private family feud.

The charges and the charges

The orders were issued by the Brescia Public Prosecutor's Office and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, which hold the mother and son jointly responsible for attempted murder with multiple aggravating circumstances, illegal possession and carrying of firearms, and threats. The aggravating circumstances alleged include premeditation and the use of firearms, elements that demonstrate careful planning of the crime.

Investigations and digital evidence

The investigation, coordinated by Brescia magistrates, proved complex and detailed. In addition to the crime scene investigations and the analysis of video surveillance footage from the area, investigators examined forensic copies of several smartphones, including that of the arrested minor.

Thanks to the intervention of the 2nd Cyber Section of the Brescia Investigative Unit, which specializes in combating cybercrime, it was possible to recover highly significant digital material: the boy apparently filmed the key moments of the shooting on his cell phone, unwittingly providing crucial insight into the reconstruction of the ambush.

Analysis also revealed that the young man had posted a video online in which he, along with his father and armed with a gun, threatened a member of another family, believed to be a rival. Investigators believe this behavior was an integral part of the tense climate that culminated in the tragedy of October 2nd.

A crime that took place in the context of family rivalry

According to what has been reconstructed so far, the motive for the crime appears to be a private disagreement between two Sinti families, stemming from sentimental issues involving their respective children. This tension had simmered over time and escalated into an armed confrontation in the Roma camp in Lonato del Garda.

Investigations have documented that, on the evening of the crime, the 59-year-old woman—the victim's mother—had gone to the scene with her mother and her minor son. Upon reaching the gypsy camp, after crashing through the entrance gate with their car, the two women fired several shots at a group of people, among whom was presumably the perpetrator. He responded by shooting back, fatally wounding the woman.

Judicial developments

Following the operations, the 59-year-old was transferred to the Brescia-Verziano prison, while her minor son was taken to the “Cesare Beccaria” juvenile detention centre in Milano.

Meanwhile, investigations continue to fully reconstruct the events and identify all those involved in a family and criminal conspiracy that still presents many uncertainties. Investigators are examining additional testimonies and analyzing new digital evidence that could shed light on the roles of the various players in the tragic night in Lonato.

A bloody affair that shakes the community

The murder of Dori Dolores has profoundly shocked the local community and the entire province of Brescia, bringing attention to a sensitive issue: tensions within some nomadic families and the risk of escalating violence in contexts where issues of sentimentality or honor can escalate into armed conflict.

Investigators do not rule out further developments in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the case remains emblematic of how private conflicts, when combined with illicit possession of weapons and family vendettas, can turn into tragedies with dramatic outcomes.
