Tragic accident in Ghedi: cyclist hit by a truck, 62-year-old woman dies.

GHEDI (Brescia) – A serious traffic accident occurred this afternoon, around 2:19 PM, in the town of Ghedi, in the province of Brescia. The accident occurred at Via Giacomo Matteotti 52, where a 62-year-old cyclist lost her life after being struck by a truck.

According to initial information gathered on the scene, the incident was classified as Code Red from the very first moments due to the woman's extremely serious condition. The circumstances, still being investigated by law enforcement, indicate that the victim was riding her bicycle when, for reasons that remain unclear, she was struck by a heavy vehicle.

The impact, unfortunately, proved fatal. By the time emergency services arrived, there was nothing more that could be done for the woman: her death was confirmed on the scene by medical personnel.

Emergency vehicles responded immediately. A medical car and an ambulance arrived at the scene of the accident, along with the Fire Department, who secured the area, and the Highway Police, who were responsible for surveying and managing traffic. The road was partially closed to traffic to allow for rescue operations and technical inspections.

The truck driver, a man of unknown age, was uninjured and not taken to the hospital. However, he was interviewed by officers to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
