Castenedolo (Brescia), storage center of counterfeit perfumery items identified. Over 5400 perfumes of well-known brands seized

As part of the institutional activity to combat economic and financial crime dedicated to the marketing of counterfeit or unsafe products, a specific activity was conducted aimed at identifying and dismantling a potential Brescia supply chain aimed at selling perfumes bearing false distinctive signs of well-known Italian and international brands.

In this context, on the basis of the elements acquired during the constant economic control of the territory, the military of the Brescia Group identified a person of non-EU origin while he was trying to resell fake perfumes to a third person, also a non-EU citizen. The financial police, having ascertained that the products were counterfeit, further investigated by searching the seller's vehicle in which, in addition to numerous other perfumes of the same type, they found the keys to access a warehouse located in the municipality of Castenedolo (BS).

Once there, hidden behind a plasterboard wall specially created to evade any police checks, The military identified a room used for storing more than 5.000 perfumes, all bearing counterfeit distinctive signs of well-known high-end perfumery houses and numerous bar codes to be placed on the products to simulate their authenticity.

At the end of the activity, the identified dealer was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Brescia for the crimes of trading in products with false distinctive signs and receiving stolen goods.

The activity carried out highlights the Corps' attention to safeguarding the national productive fabric and to combating the phenomenon of counterfeiting, which also fuels the underground circuits of undeclared work, tax evasion and money laundering.
