The 8nd edition of the Leonessa Award, an event dedicated to women who have distinguished themselves in sports, will be held on March 22 at the San Barnaba Auditorium.

This is an important recognition established by the Municipality of Brescia for all sporty women who have brought prestige to the city and who, with their lifestyle, constitute an example for civil society and for the younger generations.
Main purpose of the Lioness Award I say encourage women's sporting commitment, on a date close to the celebration of the International Women's Day. The aim is therefore to reward the perseverance, determination and commitment of the athletes who have stood out as the most promising for achieving high competitive results.
Il Sports Service, in the choice of athletes, has always requested and obtained the precious collaboration of the respective Federations and Promotion Bodies, who have promptly highlighted deserving athletes.
He will be present, as testimonial, Denise Melis (Valsabbina Millenium Brescia power plant), among the best attackers of the Serie A2 volleyball championship for the season 2024/2025.
Furthermore, Vanessa Ferrari, former Italian gymnast, world champion in 2006, European champion in 2007 e Vice-champion in floor exercise at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, will be awarded with a career recognition.
