Brescia: Local Police interventions and checks, 12 people fined for speeding.
The Local Police's territorial control operations continue in the evening and night hours.
A patrol from the technological investigations team stopped an articulated lorry with Romanian plates and an Italian semi-trailer, engaged in a “cross trade” operation, i.e. the transport of goods between two countries other than its own, in this case between Slovakia and Italy.
The driver, a Moldovan national, appeared to be an employee of the Romanian company that owned the vehicle, but after carrying out more in-depth checks, the officers discovered that the man was actually employed by another transport company, based in Poland, in violation of European legislation on the employment of drivers.
The Romanian company was therefore fined 4130 euros and the vehicle was subjected to administrative seizure in Italy for a period of three months.
The Local Police also carried out other operations in various places in the city.
To prevent thefts, four patrols monitored the areas of San Polo, Mompiano and Sant'Eufemia and then carried out road checks in via Triumplina and via Turati, using telelaser.
Twelve people were fined for speeding, and one of them also had his license suspended because he had exceeded the limit by more than 12 kilometers per hour. Ten other drivers were fined for not using seat belts, two people were fined because they had not had their vehicle inspected, one driver was fined for not respecting road signs, and two people were fined because irregularities were found with their license plates.
The officers also issued three other fines for improper use of safety devices and fined a man for vehicle devices that did not comply with the Highway Code.
The Local Police also fined 72 vehicles parked in areas of the city subject to periodic street cleaning.
Finally, a patrol intervened in Via Zoccolo where an accident had occurred.
The driver of one of the two vehicles involved, a newly licensed driver, was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Once accompanied to the Command for checks, the young man threw a bag on the ground in which hashish was found and was reported to the Prefecture as a drug user.
