Brescia, Wait and experience Christmas with this new initiative
Merry Christmas Brescia! It has been a difficult year, a year of complex and imposed changes. A year in which we shared an emergency that has deprived us of our habits, our perspectives. A year that emptied the squares, isolated people, hindered the growth of our city. A year that asked us to be different citizens, forced to reorganize our idea of community.
However, it was a year in which Brescia and its citizens were, perhaps more than yesterday, the true protagonists of the community. They did not share spaces and ideas, but rebuilt them. This was the challenge. A challenge won by this city, which was able to demonstrate, to itself and to the entire country, great resilience, capacity and participation.
Brescia has stood out in the past months and again in recent weeks for the care it has been able to give to its community. Brescia took care of its citizens and its citizens took care of their city.
Our Merry Christmas Brescia! then acquires a new value today. Not just a wish but a thank you to the city that gave its best in such a difficult moment, working day after day to keep the community strong and bring out all the beauty and good it is capable of.
Merry Christmas Brescia wants more than ever to be a small gift for everyone this year, nestled between the many personal and collective prohibitions and limits that we are still experiencing today, with the aim of giving our city the sense of home in where we will spend the Christmas holidays. Offering and receiving it will be the way to share our emotions and look to the future with tenacity.
He who has no light in his face will never become a star (William Blake). Brescia is therefore decorating itself for a family party with the project BRESCIA ILLUMINATE. As in the living room of our homes, from November 28th the squares and streets of the city will also be lit up with beauty and warmth with lights and decorations. Familiar places reinvented with a Christmas touch, beautiful to look at, to photograph and to share. She decorates herself to lighten her spirits and make her eyes shine. She lights up to give a sign of herself and her potential in defining the future that awaits us.
There is no definitive separation as long as memory exists (Isabel Allende). From 6 December Piazza Loggia becomes a large and exciting ALBUM OF MEMORIES. Many images projected onto the symbolic building of the city to recall the city of yesterday, but with the desire to imagine the city of tomorrow. Album of memories is a project by A2A Spa, dedicated to the value of participation and the planning drive that participation has always found great strength in this city. A2A's collaboration with Merry Christmas Brescia! it will also be highlighted with the scenographic lighting of the façade of the Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery and the two cedars in front.
The goal of the new year should not be to have a new year. Rather, we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears and new eyes (Gilbert Keith Chesterton). If there is a year in which we eagerly await the beginning of the new one, it is certainly this one. We are therefore all invited to celebrate its arrival together on the evening of December 31st with a live television broadcast from the Castle of Brescia. BRESCIA, THE YEAR TO COME, produced in collaboration with Teletutto, will see the city and some of its characters as protagonists of our New Year's Eve. Three hours of broadcast to share with the family in front of the TV, live on TELETUTTO starting at 22pm, to listen to voices and stories that make our city beautiful and original. Many guests and speeches who will accompany us towards the countdown and towards the fireworks display which will mark the start of the New Year. Light is still the protagonist to look to the future.
Merry Christmas Brescia!
