Brescia, the SOStieni Brescia fund receives 37 thousand euros

Brescia, on Wednesday 3 June, 37 thousand euros were credited to the account of the SOStieni Brescia fund, the result of a fundraiser promoted by Jochen Partsch, mayor of Darmstadt, among his fellow citizens.

Since the beginning of March, having learned of the health emergency that has affected our city and our province, the mayor of the Hessian city twinned with Brescia has worked to support and help the people of Brescia, immediately sending a supply of complete protective devices for the healthcare personnel in the triage areas of the Civil Hospitals and subsequently another five thousand masks for the volunteers.
Emilio del Bono, in the letter of thanks sent to his colleague, underlined how the German twins, despite also finding themselves in an emergency situation, were able to demonstrate the true value of twinning, which is expressed through solidarity and international cooperation .

“Every year several people from Darmstadt arrive in Brescia through scholastic and professional exchanges, training holiday groups, cultural and sporting groups,” declared Mayor Del Bono. “We are waiting for the end of the health emergency to be able to welcome them even more warmly and show them that the people of Brescia do not forget gestures of generosity and that they are capable of equally noble feelings of friendship”.
