Brescia: a fully digital city among Italy's top 16.
Brescia is among the 16 Italian cities to go fully digital by 2025, the highest recognition in the field of digital transition certified in the fourteenth edition of ICity Rank, the annual research on the digital transformation of 108 provincial capitals Developed by the Public Administration Forum and presented at Forum PA Città 2025, the event dedicated to urban innovation, Brescia is among the 16 cities with the highest level of digitalization in Italy. they exceed 80 points on average in the three different indexes. Until last year, the city was in the band below – “Highly digital” – which groups together the provincial capitals with an average of 66 points.
The evaluation of the Municipalities in the research is divided into three indexes (which in turn are based on 34 indicators it's about 200 variables):

the clue “Digital Administrations”, dedicated to the digitalization of administrative activities, including websites, the use of online services, and the adoption of national platforms;

the index of “Open Municipalities”, which evaluates the use of social media, the dissemination of open data and the availability of apps;

the clue “Connected cities”, relating to the digital transformation of urban services, including the development of connection networks, sensor systems and connectable devices, and data analysis and representation tools.
The city of Brescia was awarded thanks above all to the great work carried out by the offices of the Digital Transition Sector to participate in the tenders PNRR dedicated to the digital transformation of the institution. From 2022 to today, the Municipality has been able to obtain over 2 million euros by participating in ten calls for tenders on digitalisation, to which are added 1,5 million euro for the cybersecurity project.
"This is an important recognition for the city, which places us at the top of a prestigious ranking that is not just a medal to pin on our chest, but takes shape in better digital services for citizens" commented the councilor with responsibility for digital transition Andrea Poli.
