Bergamo: “1984Hdemia2024”, the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the Guardia di Finanza Academy

Saturday November 30 2024 celebrations will begin on the occasion of the 40 years of the establishment of the Academy of the Guardia di Finanza in BergamoThe celebrations will open with a gathering at the Institute of the students of the 84th “Piave Vecchio II” Course, the first cadets who began and completed the entire training process in the capital of Bergamo.

Sunday 1st December at 08.30, on the anniversary of the arrival in Bergamo of the Institute Flag, the Flag Raising Ceremony will be held in the splendid setting of Piazza Vecchia, the scene of the first oaths of loyalty to the Italian Republic of the Officer Cadets. The Holy Mass officiated by the Military Ordinary for Italy, HE Mons. Santo Marcianò, will follow.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, a military parade will take place through the streets of the city, starting from the former monastery of Sant'Agostino and ending in Frizzoni Palace, Where, 11: 30, the extraordinary City Council will take place for the awarding of honorary citizenship to the Academy. At the end of the Council the reduced ensemble of the Banda Musicale del Corpo will perform in favor of the citizens.

The celebrations will culminate at the Donizetti Theater, where it will be held starting 18 pm: 00, a special event presented by Christine Parodi, which will see the Corps' Musical Band on stage, directed by Master Colonel Leonardo Laserra Ingrosso, as well as the singers Katia Desario e Piero Mazzocchetti.

During the evening there will also be speakers Sofia Goggia, Martina Caironi, the performer painter Renato Bustaffa, the Pocket Theatre of Bergamo and the soprano Erica Artina, a former student at the Polytechnic of Arts “G. Donizetti – G. Carrara”, who will perform two Puccini arias.

The evening, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Bergamo and the Donizetti Theater Foundation, will be attended by also about 600 citizens free of charge of the capital of Bergamo, who enthusiastically joined the initiative as a testimony to the close bond between the City and the Institute.

Starting from 17.00, the event will be broadcast live on Bergamo TV as well as on the Corps' YouTube channel.
