Telese Terme, fugitive wanted for self-laundering arrested, had been hiding in the city for months.
An important operation by the Carabinieri of Cerreto Sannita led, this morning, to the arrest of a fugitive long sought after for serious crimes, including self-laundering.
The man, an Italian citizen originally from the Neapolitan hinterland, was captured thanks to a thorough investigative activityThe investigations have allowed us to locate the fugitive in a house in the center of Telese Terme, where he had been hiding for several months.
The police have ascertained that, after a period of escape abroad, the wanted man had returned to Italy and, to escape capture, used disguises and camouflage to move to different places. However, this was not enough to elude the tenacity of the military, who, having precisely identified its position, made house break-in.
Inside the house, the man was with a woman who now will have to answer for the crime of procuring non-compliance with a penalty. During the search, the Carabinieri also the sum of 19.500 euros was seized, the proceeds of which are currently under investigation by investigators.
The arrest took place without incident, Thanks to coordination with the Telese Terme Station and the cooperation with foreign police services through Interpol.
“This arrest is the result of the perseverance and tenacity of the Carabinieri who work to ensure that no crime goes unpunished”, declared the Commander of the Carabinieri Company of Cerreto Sannita.
The fugitive was transferred to the Benevento prison, where it will remain at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
