Attempt to introduce drugs and cell phones into the Airola Juvenile Penitentiary Institute blocked

An attempt to introduce a significant quantity of drugs and 4 cell phones into the Airola Juvenile Penitentiary Institute was foiled by the Carabinieri of Montesarchio, assisted by the Penitentiary Police on duty at the facility. Four young people, all adults, two women and two men, residents in the Caserta area, were arrested for having attempted to introduce into the IPM "devices suitable for carrying out communications by inmates" and for "possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing".

The four arrived shortly after midnight near the prison on board a car driven by one of the boys; they had a drone with them latest generation radio-controlled to which was tied a package secured with transparent nylon thread which contained both the narcotic substance and the cell phones. However, the attempt to introduce the material failed thanks to the arrival of the military of the Arma and the Penitentiary Police, the four were surprised and arrested.

By order of the Judicial Authority on duty those arrested were transferred to their homes under house arrest. Investigators are trying to trace the inmates who could have been the recipients of the narcotic substance and the cell phones, or to ascertain whether the four young men acted on their own initiative or on commission.
