During the past week, the Carabinieri of the Cerreto Sannita Company (BN) have intensified controls by concentrating forces in the Valle Telesina area, carrying out a widespread control of the territory aimed at combating crime.

During the week just ended, the Carabinieri of the Cerreto Sannita Company (BN), supported by an Operational Intervention Team, arrived as reinforcement from the 11th Carabinieri Regiment "Puglia", have intensified their preventive action by concentrating forces in the Valle Telesina area, carrying out a widespread control of the territory aimed at combating crimes in general and, mainly, residential burglaries, combating the dealing and use of narcotic substances, as well as the illegal carrying and possession of weapons.
Through the use of a total of 90 patrols, the Carabinieri constantly monitored the entire area involved, especially in the evening and night hours, carrying out numerous targeted interventions, some of which were also carried out thanks to timely reports from citizens, proceeding to check over 180 people and 120 vehicles, subjecting suspects to thorough checks aimed at finding burglary tools, weapons and narcotics.
A local man was caught selling cocaine to a man who was in turn reported to the prefecture for possession of a narcotic substance for personal use.
During another check, another man was reported for refusing to undergo a drug test because, while he was driving, at the sight of a Carabinieri patrol, he threw a small bottle containing crack drugs from the car, which was later recovered by the military. In this case too, the man was reported to the prefecture for possession of a narcotic substance, while his driving license was revoked.
The owner of a bar was instead reported for having served alcohol to minors, one of whom was forced to receive medical treatment for alcohol intoxication. The commercial activity will have to remain closed for 10 days.
Two foreigners with criminal records were proposed for a Mandatory Expulsion Order, as they were staying in the area with a suspicious attitude and without having the right to justify their presence.
Two rifles were also administratively seized because the owner of the weapons no longer met the requirements for their possession.
