Benevento: drug checks inside schools.
As part of the checks aimed at combating the phenomenon of drug dealing, the Carabinieri of the Benevento Company, together with the canine unit of the Carabinieri Nucleus of Sarno, with the dog named “Luna”, a Belgian Malinois shepherd, inspected, in agreement with the Headmaster, a secondary school in the city.
The service has also been extended to the adjacent spaces of the school.
This type of service, with a markedly preventive nature, will be carried out periodically with two main purposes: firstly, to discourage any criminal or administrative violation relating to the dealing and use of narcotics; secondly, to prosecute and repress any crimes in this area.
At the end of the activity, a minor was reported to the Judicial Authority because he was found in possession of a switchblade, hidden inside the backpack, four other minors were reported to the Prefect of Benevento for personal use of narcotic substances; in particular, 4 joints containing hashish and another 2 gr. of the same narcotic substance were found.
The inspection of the premises also led to the discovery of a further 2 grams of hashish seized from unknown persons.
This activity is expected to continue in the coming months by the Carabinieri of the Sannio capital who will combine these checks with the usual meetings with the kids, with information appointments in schools on the Culture of Legality.
