Benevento, Culture of Legality: The Carabinieri meet the students of the S. Angelo a Sasso and Giuseppe Alberti institutes.

Over 150 students from the “S.Angelo a Sasso” Middle School and the “Giuseppe Alberti” High School of Benevento participated in the meetings organized in recent weeks by the Carabinieri of the local Company, led by Major Emanuele Grio. The activities are part of the project “Training in the culture of legality”, promoted by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Benevento, with the aim of spreading the principles of legality and civic sense among young people.

During the lessons, the Officer of the Carabinieri addressed very current issues such as bullying and cyberbullying, smartphone addiction, the dangers that can be found behind the use of social networks such as digital identity theft, revenge porn, fake news and deepfakes, the phenomenon of body shaming, online grooming of minors, gender-based violence and domestic violence. The students, stimulated by an interactive dialogue, showed particular interest, asking questions and reflecting on the topics addressed, providing their contribution of thought, demonstrating a lively curiosity.

There were also moments of discussion with the students, to whom the Major provided indications to recognize and face the pitfalls related to the use of social media and, in general, the Internet.
The Commander underlined the fundamental role of the school as a bulwark of legality and promoter of active citizenship, reiterating the importance of constant collaboration with the Carabinieri, a symbol of the presence of the State and security for citizens.
The initiative represents a further step in the process of raising awareness of legality, consolidating the bond between institutions and the territory.
