Belluno: Sexual harassment on board the train, 25-year-old reported

Following a thorough investigation carried out by the staff of the Belluno Railway Police Station, in close collaboration with the staff of the Conegliano Railway Police Station, a 25-year-old man responsible for the crimes of sexual violence and obscene acts in a public place was tracked down and reported to the Judicial Authority.

The investigations began after the complaint of some girls, who, in recent days, presented themselves at the Polfer offices in Belluno, reporting that they had been harassed by a man, on board a train on the Conegliano-Belluno route.

From the story of the facts it was learned that, During the trip, at different times the subject in question had approached the girls, performing acts of autoeroticism in their presence; in one case he had even touched the unfortunate girl's bottom, who, shaken by the incident, had immediately notified the train conductor. In the circumstance, two other girls also reported having been victims of the man's morbid attention, who, however, having seen himself discovered, and taking advantage of the train's stop at the Ponte nelle Alpi station, had gotten off, disappearing.

However, thanks to the description provided and the images extracted from the video surveillance system installed on board the train, it was possible to convey to all the offices in the area a frame useful for the search for the subject.

Following careful research and investigation activities promptly carried out, the 25-year-old was tracked down the following day at the Conegliano railway station, where the Polfer staff immediately identified him as the possible perpetrator of the harassment. Stopped and accompanied to the Office for identification, the young man was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Belluno.
