Barletta: Traveling exhibition “But how were you dressed?” against violence against women

In the conference room of our castle the traveling exhibition entitled “What were you dressed like?” promoted by the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Council of the Bar Association of Trani.

The exhibition tells stories of violence through the clothes that women wore when they suffered abuse and aims to dismantle stereotypes that blame the victims.

The purpose of the travelling exhibition is to to profitably promote the culture of respect for human dignity in our cities with particular attention to the world of schools and young people, encouraging the formation of civil conscience in the community.

The exhibition, organized in view of the international day against violence against women on November 25, is structured in an itinerant manner throughout the territory of jurisdiction of the Court of Trani. The 8 classes of the “G. de Nittis” middle school of Barletta left their thoughts and reflections on the “red book” made available to them by the organizers of the exhibition.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Giuseppe Di Leo, Councilor for Equal Opportunities Annamaria Scommegna, President of the Equal Opportunities Committee of the COA of Trani Domenico Facchini, the representative for the city of Barletta of the Equal Opportunities Committee Palma Nardiello, and Councilor of the Bar Association of Trani Carmine Solofrizzo.

The exhibition will be in Barletta until October 16th and then will move to Andria.
