Bari, the “LiberaMente” project for the inclusion of minors with disabilities approved: 35.700 euros invested by Municipio II
Municipio II invests 35.700 euros in Bari to offer recreational activities to children with disabilities, promoting socialization and personal growth in an inclusive context.
The management resolution with which Municipio II approved the public notice and the related spending commitment (equal to 35.700 euros) has been published. for the implementation of the project “LiberaMente – Minors at the Centre”, which includes a series of initiatives aimed at promoting the reception, inclusion and social integration of vulnerable minors, also taking into account the economic and social needs of their families of origin.
In particular, the project consists of the carrying out afternoon recreational and sporting activities aimed at offering at least 30 children and young people with disabilities and with Special Educational Needs (SEN), aged between 6 and 17, residing in the Municipality or attending schools in the same area, the opportunity to participate in educational, training, play and exploration courses aimed at qualifying and enhancing their free time as well as their respective aptitudes and abilities in inclusive contexts.
"I would like to thank President Marco Pesce and the members of the Municipal Welfare Commission who, in line with the programmatic guidelines on the intervention measures envisaged in the field of social services for minors and their families, and in collaboration with the Socio-educational Service of the Minors area of our Municipality, have proposed the implementation of this project. - declares president Alessandra Lopez -. An intervention that will allow 30 children and young people to spend part of their extracurricular time in training and socialization activities among their peers under the guidance of qualified personnel. Taking care of our youngest fellow citizens is one of the fundamental objectives of municipal policy, because they are our future, and we have the duty to leave no one behind.".
The activities will be structured and personalized taking into account the specificities of the beneficiaries, the inclinations and aptitudes related to age and development, the different times of each child/boy with a view to improving expressive, communicative and relational skills, motor coordination and spatial-temporal orientation.
The activities must be carried out on a preferential basis outdoors (parks, gardens and other similar spaces) or, alternatively, in suitable indoor spaces, however in suitable structures in the territory of Municipio II.
The children and boys/girls, placed in small groups and divided by age group, they will be followed by expert and qualified operators with specific skills in the educational, rehabilitative and sports fields and in animation techniques, with proven experience in the field of disability and socio-educational needs.
In detail, the trustee subject – to be identified through a public procedure for expression of interest – will be responsible for implementing:
· the presentation of the activities to the families, with the formalization of the request for participation and the signing of a mutual responsibility agreement based on ministerial and regional protocols;
· the implementation of a direct channel of information and communication between the coordinator, the operators, the family, the socio-educational service of the Municipio II and the local community;
· introductory meetings between the team of operators, the socio-educational service referents and the family to help the operator and the child/boy/girl get to know each other;
· monitoring meetings, verification of activities between operators, socio-educational services and families;
· project closure and analysis and sharing of the objectives and results achieved.
The verification and coordination of the project will be carried out by the Socio-Educational Service of the Municipio II.
