Bari: Local Police reports truck driver for high speed and drunk driving
La Local Police announces that on Saturday afternoon 15 February, around 19pm, the officers subjected him to a control un foreign national truck, stopped for abnormal trend in the vicinity of the port of Bari.
The driver, a 50enne citizen of theEastern Europe, immediately showed symptoms attributable to the use of alcoholic beverages and, following the tests, it was found that he had a alcohol content of approximately 2,80 g/l (compared to the expected zero alcohol limit prescribed for professional drivers of heavy vehicles).
A circumstance made even more worrying by the fact that the driver, shortly before the check, while driving the vehicle, had reached speed peaks of around 120 km/h (exceeding the maximum speed limit of 90 km/h). Following the examination of the data from the digital tachograph with which the vehicle was equipped, it was also found that failure to respect rest periods.
The driver was therefore reported for “drunk driving for professional drivers” (crime provided for by article 186 bis and 186 c.2 letter C of the Highway Code), with revocation of driving license and seizure of vehicle. Also contested are the violations of an administrative nature relating to high speed and failure to respect driving and rest times.
