Appiano Gentile conducts a major drug bust: extensive checks in Pineta Park, with 220 checks in one day.

La Como State Police, continuing its business preventive and repressive against phenomena related to drugs, yesterday carried out a major coordinated operation in the urban and wooded areas of the Larian territory, with a focus on Pineta ParkThe action is part of the plan decided during the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security.

The service involved the municipalities of Appiano Gentile, Faloppio, Mozzate, Locate Varesino, Veniano, Lurate Caccivio and Fino Mornasco, areas known for drug dealing phenomena in wooded areas that are difficult to monitor. Coordinated by an official from the Como Police Headquarters, they went into action 26 operators among which:

• Mobile Squad – Anti-Drug Section of Como

• Patrols of the 6th Section of the Cabinet Office

• Three crews of the Lombardy Crime Prevention Department

• A dog unit of the Police Headquarters Milano

• La Local Police of Appiano Gentile

• Support staff at the Police Headquarters (Provincial Scientific Police Office, Immigration Office, Anti-Crime Police) ready to draw up documents in real time

A complex device, designed to hit the squares as much as urban drug dealing as those nested in the wood. The activity produced significant results:

• 220 checks in total

• 134 people identified, among which 17 with precedents

• 83 vehicles checked

• 2 public establishments inspected

The Anti-Drug patrols, supported by the canine unit, have identified and dismantled several makeshift bivouacs, already set up as logistical bases for the drug dealing in the woods.

During road checks of the Local Police of Appiano Gentile, on the provincial road 23, a Chinese female driver resident in Prato attempted to evade the checkpoint making a sharp U-turn. In addition to the dangerous maneuver, it emerged that the vehicle was without compulsory insurance: the car was immediately subjected to administrative detention.
