The Como State Police arrested two women of Roma ethnicity for aggravated theft in competition, one a 25-year-old Croatian citizen and the other a 30-year-old Italian citizen, both with criminal and police records for property crimes.
In the afternoon, the patrol cars intervened in a supermarket in Piazza Fisac in Ca' Merlata where, with a call to 112 NUE by the security officer, the theft of goods by three women had been reported and where only two had been stopped.
The police arrived on the scene and took charge of the two women, reconstructing the dynamics of the facts. The officers noted that the three women, walking through the various aisles of the supermarket, had filled three trolleys full of goods. – for a calculated value of over 1400 euros – and once they reached the cash registers they attempted to go past them but despite their skill, they set off the anti-shoplifting alarm.
The employees promptly confronted them, but only managed to stop two of them, while the third one, abandoning her shopping cart, ran away.
Once the entire dynamics were summarized in order to outline the hypothesis of the crime and all the goods stolen from the supermarket were returned, the two women were taken to the Police Headquarters where their criminal and police records for previous thefts emerged.

Informed of the facts and the arrests, the PM on duty ordered their detention in the police station's holding cells, for the direct trial scheduled for the morning.
In the meantime, the experts of the Anti-Crime Police Division are drawing up a technical report regarding their positions, to be submitted to the Como Police Chief Marco Cali', for the issuing of appropriate administrative provisions.
In the meantime, investigations are underway to identify the third accomplice who managed to escape.
