Como, the widespread and robust Public Order system avoided any contact between the fans. After the match, an arrest by the State Police
The State Police, in the context of the impressive Public Order service set up by the Como Police Chief Marco Calì, as per the indications that emerged this week during the technical coordination meeting held in the Prefecture, at the end of the football match between Como and Monza, he arrested for aggravated resisting a public official, aggravated possession of objects capable of causing offence and disguise during a sporting event, a 22-year-old Como fan, resident in the province of Varese, with no criminal record.
Yesterday afternoon, the “Giuseppe Sinigaglia” municipal stadium was the scene of the football match between Como 1907 and Monza. The Como Police Headquarters, with the other Police Forces present on the field (Turin Mobile Unit, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and Como Local Police) managed the arrival of over 800 visiting supporters, who arrived on Lario with private means of transport but the majority by train.
The approximately 600 guests who reached the capital by train and the remaining 200 present in Lazzago, were taken to the stadium at different times by shuttle buses of the public transport company ASF. In particular, during the outward journey from the railway station to the stadium, which in light of the high number of fans made it necessary to regroup them in the relative square, a side window of a bus was broken and a door of a door was damaged, without recording any other problems.
At the end of the match, before the away fans were put on the shuttle buses and taken back to the train station and the “Lazzago” car park, despite the outflow being carried out without any problems, some Como supporters, mostly with their faces covered and armed with clubs and sticks, suddenly took via Borgo Vico, with the clear intent of intercepting the away fans in transit towards the station. The presence of the units framed in all the sensitive points on the city route, meant that the group did not reach the road affected by the transit of buses. Thanks to the barrier created, the fans retreated and, at the height of via Raschi, a disguised individual with a balaclava and armed with a stick was stopped, duly seized. On that occasion, some supporters of the violent fringe threw bottles and blunt objects towards the police forces positioned at the entrance to the street. The tense situation lasted only a few minutes and did not cause damage to property or people, while the outflow and the accompaniment of the visiting fans continued without any problems.
Taken to the police station, the young man was identified as a 22-year-old from Como, then arrested by the Como Digos for the crimes of aggravated resistance to a public official, aggravated possession of objects capable of causing offence and disguise at a sporting event.
The Public Prosecutor on duty, having been informed of the dynamics of the facts, ordered his trial to be held via summary procedure, setting it for Monday at 11.00:XNUMX.
The DIGOS is currently analyzing the video surveillance footage in order to identify other individuals belonging to the group of troublemakers.
