The Como State Police reported at liberty for theft and fined pursuant to Law no. 14 of 2020 August 113, a 58-year-old from Lecco, with a criminal record.
It all happened in the late morning inside the S. Anna hospital in San Fermo della Battaglia when the police officers from the hospital's Fixed Police Station, They were alerted by the medical staff on duty who were complaining about problems with a man who was hanging around inside the emergency room and had started to heavily insult the doctor.
The intervening officers identified the 58-year-old and sanctioned him following the indications of the Law of August 2020 which regulates the provisions regarding safety for health and social-health professionals in the exercise of their functions., the report implies a fine for the offender that varies from a minimum of €1000 to a maximum of €5000 if, following the offences, threats also occur.
A few moments later, the officers of the Police Station, receiving a complaint from a hospital employee - complaining about the theft of his bicycle helmet that occurred in the hospital premises on Sunday 5 January - viewing the internal circuit cameras of the hospital, recognized the 58-year-old from Lecco as the person responsible for the theft, in fact the man was filmed while rummaging through the side bags of the bike, taking possession of the helmet, hiding it in his backpack.
Since only a few moments had passed and the man was still present in the hospital, he was immediately taken back to the police station, where this time, having collected all the evidence against him, he was reported at liberty for the theft committed on Sunday.
The position of the 58-year-old from Lecco is also being examined by the experts of the Como Anti-Crime Division who will draw up a detailed technical report to submit to the Police Chief for further administrative measures.
The intervention that took place is the result of the awareness campaign wanted by the Como Police Chief Marco Calì regarding safety and compliance with the rules within hospitals, provisions that require constant and detailed attention from the police officers of the police station who operate in this context and from the patrol cars that usually intervene at night, also wanting to impact on all those aspects that the current administrative regulations allow to be implemented, against those who violate the law or compromise the regular performance of the delicate and very important service carried out by the medical health personnel.
