Como, intensified controls on public establishments and the fight against illegal immigration
The State Police, in recent days, has significantly intensified the extraordinary services of territorial control, focusing attention on administrative inspections in public places and on the fight against the rules regarding the law on immigration.
Important were the measures put in place by the Como Police Headquarters, which deployed personnel from the Cabinet Office and the Administrative and Security Police Division, and which carried out checks, both in the city and in the province, on public establishments operating in various sectors.
In the context of the checks, some carried out with the assistance of NIL Carabinieri personnel, five public places were inspected in Como, in particular a bar in via F.lli Rosselli, a regular meeting place for Como ultras, which was fined for the lack of the mandatory breathalyser to be placed inside the premises.
Inspections were also extended to the municipalities of Gravedona ed Uniti (CO), S. Fedele Intelvi (CO), Centro Valle Intelvi (CO) and Domaso (CO), in the latter a slot machine hall was checked and sanctioned, – sadministrative action which can reach a maximum of 2200 Euros – in which the owner allowed smoking inside the premises, above all failing to provide adequate reserved areas suitable for smokers.
Furthermore, the territorial control services, where the UPGSP patrol cars every day carry out stops, arrests and escorts to the Police Headquarters of non-EU citizens irregularly present on the territory, have allowed the Immigration Office to issue some provisions against foreign citizens irregularly present on the territory.
In particular, this week alone, 5 escorts to the border of people found to be irregular were carried out; two 25-year-old Turkish citizens were repatriated for the rejection of their residence permit, a third Turkish citizen was refused political asylum and an Albanian born in 87 was repatriated because he remained on Italian soil beyond the 90 days allowed.
Seven are the foreigners who, in various capacities, have been treated by immigration experts and who, due to their irregularities, have been accompanied to the various CPRs in the area, such as a Moroccan born in 1995, found to be irregular and burdened by a long list of criminal and police records, tracked down in a bar in Mozzate (CO) during an extraordinary service of territorial control operated in the province.
Furthermore, more than twenty Police Orders were issued against people who, in the last few days, were responsible for illegal conduct, undermining public safety.
