The State Police, last night, arrested for aggravated theft a 34-year-old Milanese man, without a fixed abode, with a criminal and police record for crimes against the public administration and related to drugs.
Around 6.30 on Sunday morning, a patrol car was sent to via Pio XI in the Sagnino neighborhood where a theft was taking place inside a supermarket.
In fact, uOnce they arrived on site, the police immediately noticed that one of the security doors at the back of the business had been forced open and once inside, they surprised the 34-year-old with one of the supermarket's cash registers in his hand..
At the sight of the officers, the man dropped the crate to the ground and attempted a timid escape inside the spaces but was promptly stopped and secured. The immediate search of his person allowed the police to find on him a medium-sized stone - used to force the back door and the cash registers - and not far away a basket full of goods belonging to the supermarket, already prepared to be transported outside - among the goods there were also two raw hams worth almost 900 euros -.
In the meantime, the owner of the supermarket also intervened on the scene, having raised the alarm by calling 112 NUE, to whom the goods were returned at the same time and invited to the Police Headquarters to file a theft report.
The 34-year-old from Milan was taken to the police station where he was identified precisely and where his criminal and police records that he had collected over time emerged, finally he was arrested for aggravated theft.
Notified of the arrest, the prosecutor on duty ordered the man's detention and set his trial as a direct trial.
