Como: Violates Immigration Law, 21-Year-Old Arrested with Previous Convictions
The State Police arrested a 21-year-old Moroccan, with a police record, illegal in the territory and without a fixed abode, for violating the immigration law, identified while wandering on foot in the Monte Olimpino area. In the context of the intensification of territorial control, a patrol car patrolling the outskirts of Monte Olimpino noticed the 21-year-old Moroccan wandering on foot, proceeding to identify him.
From a first check, the man did not have any valid identity documents with him but was in possession of an exit pass from the Swiss Confederation. Taken to the police station he was identified with precision from which emerged, in addition to a series of aliases, a list of previous police records for crimes against property and the Public Administration and two convictions, one for theft and one for drugs. He was also charged with a ban on residing in the municipality of Bologna and simultaneous expulsion from the territory, with the order not to return for at least three years, under penalty of mandatory arrest.
This was confirmed by the Swiss pass, which the 21-year-old had first left and then re-entered Italian territory, he was arrested on charges of violating immigration law. Having informed the public prosecutor on duty of the arrest, he ordered his trial with the direct procedure.
The State Police will continue its efforts to ensure an increasingly widespread control of the territory, as daily imparted by the Como Police Chief Marco Calì to all branches of the police forces in the province, without stopping and with constant attention.
