Como: violent attack in the middle of the night in Piazza Volta, the gang punches a passerby and runs away. Identified and reported in record time by the Como State Police

The Como State Police reported at liberty for aggravated assault in competition a 19-year-old Algerian, with a criminal and police record, resident in the city, a 21-year-old Dominican, with a police record, resident in Lipomo (CO) and a 20-year-old Italian, with a police record resident in Como. The three, with two other individuals in the process of being identified, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, are said to have been responsible for the assault and beating, without any reason, against a 39-year-old Finnish national, in Italy for work reasons and who was staying in a nearby hotel.

Around 2am, the patrol cars were diverted to Piazza Volta following a report of an assault. Once on site the police had to help a 39-year-old Finnish man who, in pain and with a swollen face, spoke in English and said he had been surrounded and beaten by a group of five individuals, including boys and girls.

From the man's story, the officers precisely outlined the unfolding of the attack: the 39-year-old, after a walk, was walking back to his hotel in Piazza Volta when he came across a group of young people, who for trivial reasons regarding the request for a cigarette decided to attack him, hitting him on the head with an empty bottle.

The Police, in addition to having a 118 ambulance arrive to transport the victim to the hospital with a green code - he will be given a report with a prognosis of 10 days - collected the few but decisive testimonies of the incident, immediately acquiring the images recorded by the municipal video surveillance circuit.

During the day on Sunday, after having collected the complaint of the 39-year-old and started an incessant documentary and technical investigation, the police cars managed to isolate three subjects, recognized because they were immortalized by the electronic eye of the cameras in the crucial phases of the brutal attack. The three subjects were also recognized by the victim.

All three were physically located within a few hours, taken to the police station and reported for aggravated assault in competition.

In addition to the referral to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Como, which was immediately informed of the incident, the experts of the Anti-Crime Police Division are drafting a technical report regarding their positions, to be submitted to the Como Police Chief Marco Cali', in order to issue the appropriate administrative preventive measures against them.

In the meantime, investigations are underway to identify the other two members of the pack.
