The State Police, last night, reported two young men from Como at liberty for resisting and committing violence against a public official, a 21 year old man and a 20 year old woman, both with criminal and police records, residing in a neighborhood in the south of the city.
At around 2.30 am on September 25th, a patrol car during the usual, constant and widespread control of the territory, noticed a man passing by Scalabrini Street a large, new-generation SUV with two people on board.
At this point the officers decided to proceed with their check by ordering the alt to the driver by activating the light devices but in response, the same he accelerated his march, running away at full speed, engaging in a chase with the patrol car.
The car ended its journey under some public buildings in a neighborhood south of Como where the occupants got out fleeing on foot in different directions.
The police officers, who in the meantime had recognized the two fugitives, then blocked both of them and secured them in the service car, not without a verbal and physical reaction from the two consisting of insults, swear words and pushing towards the officers.
Taken to the police station, the two continued on their journey obstructive and violent behavior against the officers who were trying to identify them. Once the identification phase was completed, the list of their criminal and police records emerged, also ascertaining that the 21-year-old was driving the car, registered to a rental company, without a driving license.
The two were reported at liberty for resistance and violence against public officials while for the 21 year old alone, there is also a series of traffic violations to settle, in addition to driving without a license.
The UPGSP police are currently conducting further investigations to define the aspects concerning the rental of the car and how the young man came into possession of it.
