Como: 64 grams of cocaine seized. 29-year-old arrested.

The State Police, yesterday evening, in the area between the municipalities of Cantù and Capiago Intimiano, carried out an extraordinary territorial control service aimed at combating widespread crime and repressing the phenomenon of drug dealing.

The activity, coordinated by an official of the Como police station, saw the participation of numerous patrols of the State Police, in particular the Cabinet Office, the Como Flying Squad, the Lombardy Crime Prevention Department of Milano and the Local Police of Capiago Intimiano.

The operators carried out extensive control activities in all areas of the affected area including the peripheral areas and less frequented streets, where predatory crimes were reported.

A total of 150 people, 24 vehicles and some public places were checked.

Particular attention was also paid to the Piazza Garibaldi area in Cantù and in particular to the most popular places. The dubious attitude of a customer of one of these places, a 29-year-old from Cantù with specific criminal records, made the Mobile policemen who followed him suspicious, discovering that he was running a drug dealing business.

A few checks were enough, documented by some drug sales that the man had carried out near a club, for him to be checked by the police who found them contained in a pack of cigarettes 9 doses of cocaine, for a total of almost 5 grams and 190 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity.

The search was then also extended to his home in Cantù, where another 26 wrappers ready for sale containing approximately 12 and a half grams of cocaine, a bag with approximately 47 grams of the same substance, a precision scale and 530 euros in cash.

Once arrested, the 29-year-old was taken to the Como prison by order of the PM on duty.
